The mission of our laboratory is to develop state of the art image guided surgery and therapy systems that incorporate innovative computer and machine interface technologies into surgical procedures. By providing this we are aiming to:
Improve surgical accuracy and functional
Reduce costs (Surgical, Therapy, Hospitalization)
Promote new technology in image guided surgery and therapy
Provide innovative technological solutions for understanding, treatment and monitoring of disease
In order to achieve this mission we focus on all aspects of biomedical engineering technologies. During your time at the CompAST laboratory you will develop specific skills in the areas of medical image analysis, machine learning, medical device development and surgical systems interfaces (robotics, tracking devices, user interface design, clinical system investigation and validation). As part of your research you will be interacting and collaborating with clinicians, surgeons, engineers and scientist, allowing for independent as well as collaborative research.
